PADI Tec 45
The PADI Tec 45 course is the second part of the full PADI Tec Deep Diver program. You will extend your depth limit to 45 meters / 145 feet, and learn to plan and perform repetitive decompression dives using a single stage / decompression tank. You will use the complete technical equipment, which can be in “backmount” configuration. Plus, using enriched air or pure oxygen, you will perform accelerated decompression dives. This is a challenging course, during which you will make a serious effort to become a technical diver.
To enroll in the Tec 45 course you must:
- Being a PADI Tec 40 diver
- Be a PADI Rescue Diver
- Have logged at least 50 dives, at least 12 of which were enriched air dives deeper than 18 meters / 60 feet and 6 dives deeper than 30 meters / 100 feet.
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be in possession of a Medical Certificate with Nulla Osta signed by a doctor within the previous 12 months
Note that certificates from other organizations may be valid – ask your Tec Deep Instructor for information.
Academic
The Tec 45 course consists of three theoretical development sessions, three practical sessions and four training dives in open water. By developing what you have learned during the Tec 40 course, you will focus on the function and maintenance of technical equipment and related issues. You will continue to refine your gas planning and accelerated decompression stop calculation. You will learn to think like a technical diver.
Equipment:
You will use the full technical equipment , which includes bi-cylinder and winged BCD in addition to the phase cylinders, or you could use a technical sidemount configuration . Your PADI Tec Deep Instructor will show you the equipment required for your technical adventures.
